Total Slag: 920 g

A large amount of slag was recovered from CA-81 in the 2013 season, with a total weight of 920 g. The greatest incidence of fragments was in locus 2 , with a total weight of 305 g. A few large pieces of slag were also catalogued, ( 20130123 ) and ( 20130210 ), as well as a piece of slag with adhered terracotta ( 20130207 ). The presence of slag implies that some type of metal production was taking place near CA-81, if not necessarily in the precise location. In addition, there were two crucible framgents recovered, but not catalogued from CA-81 and it's extensions.
