1V The trench was taken down to 35cm. Very few tiles (3boxes) and some sherds (1/4 box). An irregular stone pavement was cleared, which appeared along the wall with a great concentration of stones for 2m faving N from the edge of the wall, further N and E the stones were much more scattered. The two stone constructions described p. 51 were cleared, and seemed to continue N as some more stones appeared at the very end (N) of the trench. The gap in the wall appeared very clearly, and also at the E edge there seemed to be a break (?) in the wall.

Foot
1W Continued removing topsoil. Few tiles (2.5 boxes) and a foot were found. Scattered stones appeared in great n8umber. A great concentration of lumps of coarse plaster made of a yellowish clay with long semi-circular depressions as if made by fingers - possibly formed by plastering the clay over a reed framework.
1X A new trench was laid out parallel to the trenches 1R, 1T and 1V,

1U The second course was taken off. Near the western edge toward the agger - several large stones appeared well above the level of the wall in 1G. Tile was very light (less than 1 box). The stones were left on the change that together with the red strip in 1S and several other small stone clusters they might form part of a house built over the fallen temple.
