AM

Excavation was continued through the Locus 5 burn layer.  THe soil was so rich with bronze flecks and lumps that a bulk bronze box was created.  All soil was finely sorted for small artifacts, but all that came out was terracotta, ceramic, plaster, slag, and occasional vitrified substances.

PM

Excavation continued in Locus 5.  Large amounts of plaster were generated.  The flor was flattened at the end of the day.

FINDS

Locus 5:

  • 270 pieces of terracotta
  • 69 ceramic fragments
  • 62 plaster fragments
  • 5 bone fragments
  • 11 pieces of bronze
  • 1 fragment of ridged creamware ( Find 14 )
  • 1 fragment of vitrified impasto tondo and base ( Find 15 )
  • 1 piece of vitrified ceramic ( Find 16 )
